QUALITY: A CONSTANT PRIORITY
Established in 1891 as the Le Havre Tourist Office, the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community Tourist Office is one of the oldest in France.
To ensure high-quality service and a superior visitor experience, the Le Havre Etretat Normandie Tourisme Tourist Office—which holds Category 1 status—has been committed to the “Qualité Tourisme” (Tourism Quality) initiative since 2015, most recently renewing its certification in March 2024.
Enhancing the quality of the Tourist Office’s activities is a key pillar of our tourism strategy. Our goal is to design and implement initiatives—whether aimed at tourists, industry partners, or local authorities—that ensure satisfaction for all stakeholders.
The customer—be it a visitor, an elected official, or a service provider—lies at the heart of everything we do.
To this end, the Le Havre Etretat Normandie Tourisme Tourist Office commits to:
- Defining its strategy, objectives, quality policy, action plans, and annual reports in collaboration with its partners and sharing these with them, as well as evaluating its activities and their economic impact on the region.
- Using quality as a tool for service improvement and management, with the Quality Coordinator driving the initiative on a daily basis, supported by senior management.
- Manage human resources, provide regular staff training and the necessary resources to carry out duties, integrate temporary or new staff, and establish effective internal communication.
- Ensure service quality by having the entire team adhere to quality procedures, collecting and analyzing quality indicators, and implementing and monitoring any necessary corrective actions.
- Facilitate access to information at the tourist office and in accommodation facilities.
- Provide efficient and courteous service via telephone, digital channels, and in-person interactions.
- Offer services complementing the standard welcome and tourist information functions, such as ticketing and a gift shop.
- Maintain a continuously trained workforce.
- Continuously improve reception services based on established quality indicators.
- Structure the Tourist Office and commit it to a continuous improvement process that fosters internal momentum and greater economic performance.
- Collaborate with partners to constantly enhance the quality of reception and services across the region.
- The ultimate goal is to boost the region’s economic impact by implementing a marketing strategy and improving responsiveness to customer needs through satisfaction surveys combined with a comprehensive evaluation process.
The Tourist Office is committed to implementing a quality policy aimed at satisfying all its clients—visitors, partners, and stakeholders:
- tourists: by pursuing pre-defined objectives and improving responsiveness to customer needs.
- local business professionals: by facilitating access to resort information and providing effective tools to help promote their establishments and the destination as a whole.
- local authorities: by implementing development and communication strategies to raise the destination’s profile and, consequently, increase the economic benefits of tourism.
- the local population: by facilitating access to information on local performances and leisure activities, and by providing services related to tourism and discovery.
