Théâtre : Monarques
LE HAVRE
Description
Emmanuel Meirieu / The Operating Theatre
This is the story of two odysseys. Two epic journeys. That of the Monarch butterflies, which, at All Saints? Day, take them from the great lakes of Canada to the sunny mountains of Mexico. That of South American refugees, clandestinely boarding freight trains to reach the United States. Two titanic and dangerous migratory paths intersect. If deforestation and climate change are a threat to the Monarchs, the beauty and length (5000 km) of their journey is all the more admirable. Emmanuel Meirieu has chosen a guide, a mediator, even an infiltrator, a paraglider committed to their protection. The story is so beautiful that you’d think it was made up, and yet it’s true. This show pays tribute to the courage displayed, to the ballet of flapping wings, to the risk-taking of migrants, to the hope of all those who travel to save their skins.
