What if we really took the time to listen to what children think? A man and a woman dressed to the nines introduce the evening we’ve been invited to. The young girl next to them is expected to speak, an initiative to be applauded in a divided world that hierarchizes speech. But in doing so, the two adults never give her a chance to speak and go on and on. So, in order to get them off his back, the child remains silent when it’s his turn at last. Spirit of contradiction? There’s a lot more going on here, and what happens next is sure to turn the tables. Lola Giouse has created this disconcerting show from a child?s point of view. With facetiousness, she gives voice to this budding citizen, who gives herself away like never before. By seizing this platform, the little girl turns the usual tables, denounces the hypocrisy of adults and… nails us, literally.
