Founded in 1876, the Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Ville du Havre has become one of Europe?s leading amateur wind bands.

Since its creation, it has given over a thousand concerts in France and abroad, and has often represented the town, the region and even France in competitions (in 2020, the Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Ville du Havre was selected to represent France at the Concours Européen d?Orchestre d?Harmonie ? ECWO) and in exchanges in France and internationally (recently with the city of Magdeburg in Germany, or the town of Andorre-la-Vieille in the Principality of Andorra).

The Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Ville du Havre brings together over 60 talented musicians, including 3rd cycle students at the conservatory, enlightened amateurs and a few professionals. It places particular emphasis on intergenerational encounters. For students at the Arthur Honegger Conservatoire, it is the culmination of an excellent pedagogical path, as they successively join the cadet wind band, then the junior wind band, before joining the Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Ville du Havre in their 3rd cycle.

Since 2022, under the influence of its new conductor, Vicente Luna, who also leads numerous ensembles both in the Paris region and abroad (notably in Spain and Latin America), the Orchestre d?Harmonie de la Ville du Havre has taken on a new lease of life.

Through an ambitious program, it performs a varied and extremely lively repertoire, ranging from romantic to contemporary music, including traditional European music. An orchestra of great musicality, to be discovered or rediscovered absolutely!

The orchestra is supported by the Amicale de l?Orchestre d?Harmonie du Havre and its offshoots.
