Exposition : “La pudeur des mycètes” – Marine Nouvel
LE HAVRE
Description
After studying at ESADHAR in Le Havre, Marine Nouvel began researching mushrooms, that strange creature that is neither a plant, nor a fruit, nor a flower, nor even an animal… It’s a fungus. By proposing installations combining living nature and sculpture, the artist wishes to highlight the human-plant symbiosis. The work in Alveolus 13 consists of a pathway of earth, in which wax body parts rub shoulders with mushrooms modeled in ceramic or resin, coupled with real plants growing in front of us, as the exhibition unfolds. It’s an ecosystem that blurs the boundaries between living beings, and raises the question of “how can we make common ground? The artist?s works will be presented in two phases, in alveolus 13 from April 5 to May 11 and in the gardens until June 22.
Exhibition opening on Friday, April 4.
The artist will be on hand to meet the public on April 5 and 6 and May 10 and 11
