Exposition : “Du côté de Flora Artefacta” – María Ibanez Lago

LE HAVRE

Sans titre-1

Description

Maria Ibanez Lago, a Franco-Argentine artist and scenographer, develops issues linked to the diversity of plant species, the morphogenesis of living organisms, and feminist postures. Her proposal for the Jardins suspendus is entitled “Du côté de Flora Artefacta”, in homage to the botanical models of Christina Jauch-Stein.

The first is a theatrical presentation of botanical models, each taking on the appearance of a “plant-character”. A second, presenting sculptures made up of repetitive shapes, forming geometric volumes inspired by those composing plants. Finally, a focus on plant species native to Latin America and endangered species in mainland France, as a kind of appeal to combat botanical blindness.

These themes will weave their way through the various spaces, sometimes focusing on one theme, sometimes on another, but more often than not intertwining in the same installation, for a conscious journey into the world of the living.
