Exposition : “Amers remarquables – Déambulations fluviales”

LE HAVRE

Sans titre-1

Description

What if landscape landmarks became works of art?

“Remarkable Bitters” takes us to the Seine valley, to an imaginary landscape marked out by ?uvres.

Amers Remarquables is a creative research project involving over 60 artists on a river journey. During 5 cruises on the Seine, from upstream to downstream, the artists observed the landscape from the water, extracting shapes, landmarks and visible signals: “landmarks”. The latter, generally used in navigation to get your bearings, are here invented or reinterpreted as artistic, poetic or critical objects, seen from the water. The touring exhibition, initially approved by the Normandie Impressionniste Festival, offers an original reading of the area from Nogent-sur-Seine to Le Havre, between imagination, memory and utopia.

Presented at the LH Port Center from May 24 to August 31, 2025, “Amers Remarquables” brings together 58 project works: models, drawings, photomontages, sculptures, performances and conceptual installations. These creations are based on intersecting themes: environment, history, tourism, water level variations, cartography, signage, performance? So many prisms that shape a sensitive narrative of the river.
