Conférence : Présentation et initiation aux instruments du Moyen Â

Description

The meeting will begin with a tour of the instruments in the Brassy Collection, during which the three main instrument families will be presented. This will be illustrated by musical examples played on pieces from the collection. The event will also cover the history of medieval music, organology, archaeo-luthery, conservation and maintenance, before a time of discussion with the public.

This will be followed by a period of instrumental practice, during which each participant will be able to familiarize themselves with one or more instruments as they learn one or more simple medieval pieces: accompanying song(s) and/or dance(s) in small group(s).
