Conférence : Exploration profonde – Sur les traces d’un navire myt
LE HAVRE
Description
Lost for over 100 years, the Endurance, Shackleton’s legendary ship, was found intact in 2022… at a depth of 3,000 meters, under the Antarctic ice. An extraordinary expedition, carried out in one of the most inhospitable corners of the planet, with the help of underwater robots, an icebreaker and a team of passionate specialists.
In this lecture presented by Le Havre Port Center, Maëva Onde, hydrographer, and Jérémie Morizet, underwater exploration engineer, both key members of the Endurance22 expedition, tell us about this incredible mission behind the scenes: the extreme conditions, the relentless search, the magical moment of discovery? but also their daily lives as deep-sea experts.
When they?re not tracking down mythical wrecks, they?re designing high-tech sonars, analyzing the seabed in the four corners of the globe or training the new generation of explorers. A fascinating journey through history, adventure and scientific prowess, to relive the last great legend of polar exploration.
