Ladies & Gentlemen

American jazz singer and organist Rhoda Scott brings together her high-flying ladies – Lisa Cat-Berro on alto saxophone, Sophie Alour on tenor saxophone and Julie Saury on drums – and invites equally talented gentlemen Hugh Coltman and David Linx to join her on vocals, accompanied by Emmanuel Pi Djob on vocals and guitar. For “the barefoot lady”, as she is known, has a knack for surrounding herself with solid, virtuoso musicians. More than twenty years after the founding of the Rhoda Scott Lady Quartet, the all-female quartet sets out on the road with a new repertoire from its latest album, the aptly named Ladies & Gentlemen. A celebration of our fertile mix of cultures, in which women are given pride of place without excluding men. After all, isn?t music warmer when it blends influences, genres and styles? Jazz, blues and soul intermingle their rhythms and swaying rhythms to enchant you throughout the evening.
