LE HAVRE
Description
As part of the Journées du Matrimoine, the Garce Club is offering three concerts. Before the concerts, join us at 7.30pm to meet and chat with the members of this brand-new association from Le Havre!
> L.A. Witch – [Garage Rock – USA]
The three grrrls of L.A. WITCH hail from Los Angeles. Or rather, from an old haunted motel on the outskirts of Hollywood.
Following in the footsteps of The Brian Jonestown Massacre, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, or more generally 60?s garage, they produce tracks oscillating between 70?s psychedelic noir, 90?s grunge and bloody surf rock. For many, their lo-fi, saturated sound is reminiscent of the Black Angels or Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Their latest album “Play With Fire” (2020) gives the impression of traversing the history of American rock n’ roll, from its birth at the crossroads of blues and country music, through the psyche of the ’60s, to the punk scene of the early ’70s, and ending its journey on the New York art rock of the early ’80s.
> Morgan – [Rap – France]
A multi-faceted artist, Morgan raps on guitars, bass and other instruments. A soundsystem enthusiast, she began by joining Dub sessions before self-producing with a Savoyard collective, and then taking the joys of live performance by storm at local festivals. Her hip-hop draws on both techno and metal, giving her project a strong artistic identity. Fascinated by communication tools and keen to get her music out to as many people as possible, she launched herself on Tiktok. It was a success, with over a million subscribers in just one year!
Determined to make her mark on the rap game, Morgan promises to surprise us live with tracks from her latest album: “La Pomme”. A project with a highly varied sound, supported by strong lyrics questioning subjects ranging from feminism to mental health.
> Lingus – [Rave/Techno – France]
Plunging into the hypnotic depths of electronic music, Lingus shapes sets in a dark, eclectic atmosphere. Inspired by industrial sounds, percussive rhythms and immersive synthetic layers, Lingus fashions an intense, almost melancholy sonic universe, which she brings back from queer nights.
