Concert : Éric-Maria Couturier

In an original interpretation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Suites for Solo Cello”, we are joined by the internationally renowned Éric-Maria Couturier, cello soloist with the Ensemble Intercontemporain and member of the Talweg Trio, among other collaborations.

Overlapped by the six Preludes of the Suites, improvisations played in the moment by the virtuoso musician foreshadow a seventh Prelude, like a final crowning touch.

Each concert is different, depending on the spirit of the venue, its acoustics and the musician’s inspiration. The moment promises to be all the more unique and majestic in the incredible Église Saint-Joseph, a veritable spiritual beacon from the top of its 107.23 m lantern tower, a major modern symbol of the reconstruction of Le Havre.

And it’s a pure joy to rub shoulders with Bach’s genius, at once timeless and resolutely modern under the bow of Éric-Maria Couturier.
