They take the art of acrobatics to demanding, poetic heights, working as a collective, driven by a common passion: acrobatics. They roam the length and breadth of the stage, defying gravity and the laws of muscle. They know how to embrace the stage in large numbers. Creating a crowd, a mass, a chorus, a group of people, is at the heart of what drives Collectif XY. With Le Pas du Monde, our vertical equilibrists, experts in vertiginous lifts, bewildering falls and agglomerations of bodies, experiment with mutation. Here, metamorphosis is the surest way to become one with nature, the shortest route to all the other forms of life around us. How to make mountains? Become a spring? Make bird? In short, how do you make a landscape? Collectif XY responds with movement, material and song, via human columns, suspensions and acrobatic sculptures. The link between carriers and acrobats becomes a metaphor for our fragile interactions.
