The gathering, called The Tall Ships Races Le Havre 2025, is a fantastic opportunity to admire exceptional sailing ships such as Belem, Capitán Miranda, Morgenster, and Dar Mlodziezy, the largest and oldest sailing ship in the world.

The start of The Tall Ships Races in Le Havre will be the first of three largest gatherings of tall ships in Europe. More than 40 boats are registered for the 2025 edition.

Ranging from 13 to 108 meters in length and hailing from more than a dozen countries around the world, these ships form an exceptional fleet.

Visitors will have free access to the decks of these tall ships, without reservation.

Historic docks as moorings

The boats will be moored in a unique setting: the Paul Vatine, Vauban, and Eure docks, in the heart of the historic docks of the city of Le Havre.

The docks, decked out in the colors ofThe Tall Ships Races Le Havre 2025, will feature a wide variety of activities and stalls to delight the public.

A historic and festive event

Various festivities, including concerts, a nighttime show, as well as the famous crew parade and the sailing parade, will be on the program.

On July 7, all the yachts will leave Le Havre for Dunkerque, then Aberdeen, Scotland, and Kristiansand, Norway, before concluding their journey in Esbjerg, Denmark.

The Tall Ships Races: a long-standing tradition

Organized by Sail Training International, The Tall Ships Races are international tall ship races. They aim to encourage international friendship and the training of young people in the art of sailing within a sporting and festive competition. These races, organized each year in Europe, consist of stages of several hundred nautical miles and festivities between each of them. They bring together monohull sailboats measuring from 9.14 m in length to 100 m and more. The start of The Tall Ships Races in Le Havre in early July 2025 will be the first of the three largest gatherings of tall ships in Europe.

Highlights

The Grandes Voiles Village will open on July 3 at 6:00 p.m. The festivities continue on July 4, 5, and 6 from 10:00 a.m. to midnight, including the opening of the bridges to the public. The village is scheduled to close late morning on July 7.

  • Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 July – Arrival of the sailboats
  • Thursday, July 3 – 6:00 p.m.: Village pre-opening
  • Friday, July 4 – 10:00 a.m.: Inauguration of The Tall Ships Races Le Havre 2025
  • Saturday, July 5 – 4:00 p.m.: Crew parade followed by the awards ceremony / 10:30 p.m.: Nighttime and fireworks show
  • Sunday, July 6 – 6:00 p.m.: Maneuvering of sailboats from the Eure basin to the marl basins
