Sortie nature : Quand les cigognes pouponnent

Quand les cigognes pouponnent - ©Maison de l'Estuaire (2)

The White Stork is now a regular resident of the nature reserve. The vast wet meadows of the Seine estuary have seduced this large wading bird, which each year settles here in increasing numbers to breed. After returning from Africa or Spain, pairs of storks start to return in mid-January to nest on old trees, poles or large platforms specially built for them. April heralds the birth of the first young, around whom adults come and go to provide food, warmth and protection. This is a good time to observe them.
