LE HAVRE

Biodiversité marine près de chez vous - ©LH Port Center

Description

Join Le Havre’s Natural History Museum and Le Havre Port Center on an exciting adventure, as they guide you along the docks to explore their biodiversity. Nestled at the mouth of the Seine, the port of Le Havre is home to an abundance of surprising flora and fauna, ready to be discovered.

This walk will take you from the waters of the Bassin du Roi to the Bassin de la Barre, via the Bassin de la Citadelle. Beyond their history and function, you’ll be immersed in the lives of the species that inhabit them. Stop by the innovative Biohut® marine shelter, an initiative to revitalize the Bassin de la Citadelle as a nursery. Since 2021, no fewer than 14 species, from whelks to shrimps to mussels, have made their home here!

Get ready to discover the fascinating ecosystem that binds species together in a harmony that’s essential to preserve. This experience will surprise you at every step!
