Visite guidée : Hôpital allemand
LE HAVRE
Description
Guerres et Paix – Organized by Pays d’art et d’histoire.
Proposed by the association Mémoire et Patrimoine Le Havre 1939-1945
Punctuated by the traditional songs created by slaves on the plantations of Guadeloupe, the tour takes you on a voyage of discovery of the places in the heart of the Cauchois countryside that bear witness to the effects of the triangular trade. From thatched cottages and manor houses to large agricultural estates, the tour reveals the investments made by shipowners in Le Havre, who were involved in the slave trade, as well as the activities of the siamoisiers, the peasant-weavers who produced fabrics used as currency on the African coast.
