LE HAVRE

Eglise Saint-Michel ©Michel Denancé - OTAH

Description

Divine heritage – Organized by Pays d’art et d’histoire.

Completed in 1964, Saint-Michel church is one of the last buildings of the Reconstruction period. It was designed by Le Havre architect Henri Colboc, who stylized an open Bible lit by a candle. The sober, refined work is illuminated by the work of two women: the stained glass windows by Jacqueline Archepel Lelièvre and the tapestry “La Joie pascale” designed by Geneviève Salles.
