Inaugural evening of Normandy Impressionist Nights – “Constellations”, Joanie Lemercier.

The Bassin du Roy will host the launch party of the Nuits Normandie Impressionniste on Thursday August 25th. The opportunity to let yourself be transported, at nightfall, by “Constellations”, the spectacular light installation by digital artist Joanie Lemercier. His work focuses on the projection of light in space and its influence on our perception.

With “Constellations”, the artist expands the possibilities of light as a medium by using fine drops of water as a support. The three-dimensional images thus created transport us to the center of a black hole and then through the cosmos, planets and stars, to the limits of the universe. Proposed in the very city where Claude Monet painted “Impression, rising sun”, Joannie Lemercier’s work follows an approach parallel to that of her illustrious elder: that of a modern approach to the use of light in collision with the natural elements.

Lasting 16 minutes, the installation is presented every 30 minutes, on Thursday August 25, Friday August 26 and Saturday August 27, from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Installation offered in partnership with Le Tetris, during the Exhibit festival.
