Like Le Havre, Porte Océane, city port, crossroads of the worlds not only of goods and trade but also of cultures, MoZ’aïque has over the years established itself as the meeting place for world music.

Festival de musiques du monde aux Jardins Suspendus

A multicultural festival in Le Havre

Jazz, blues, latin, rock, afro … each summer, this festival takes over the Hanging Gardens as a point of convergence for the diversity of cultures, a temporary meeting place from here and beyond where it’s great to really get away within this exceptional setting.

Located in the heights of Le Havre, overlooking the bay, the Hanging Gardens offer remarkable views of the city and estuary. This former military fort, built in 1856, has become a vast landscaped area paying homage to the botanical explorers who sailed from Le Havre. Each bastion focuses on the flora of a continent (North America, Asia, southern lands…).

Below the parapet walk, 5,000 m² of collection greenhouses, open to visitors for a symbolic euro, housing large and rare varieties of species from all over the world.

This configuration of the particularly protected site, since it is enclosed and pedestrian, promotes contact between public and artists. The management of the festival makes a point of welcoming a family-based, intergenerational audience.

Café music and delights

The “Café music” space has become a special place for exchange and relaxation, featuring brass bands and atmospheric concerts during the day. The public is invited to dance every evening at its balls to the rhythms of swing, musette or tango. Snacks are available, and service providers are selected based on the quality of their products and the spirit of conviviality they bring to the event.
